JUDGING OTHERS – SHOULD CHRISTIANS JUDGE FALSE TEACHERS? What does the Bible say about Judging others, and False Teachers? Are Christians to Judge other Christians? Are we to Name the Names of FALSE TEACHERS & FALSE PROPHETS? We are NOT to Judge a person’s MOTIVES (i.e. Matthew 7:1), but we ARE to Judge a Fellow Christian’s: FRUIT / ACTIONS (Matthew 7:15-20,John 7:24,1 Cor 5:12–13) to make sure they’re NOT Teaching & Living CONTRARY to God’s Word, and Essential Christian Doctrine is Correct.

  • Acts 17:11 (NASB) “Now these [Jews] were MORE NOBLE-MINDED than those in Thessalonica; for they RECEIVED the WORD with GREAT EAGERNESS, EXAMINING the SCRIPTURES DAILY to see whether these things [Paul & Silas’ statements] were so.”

QUICK LINK: The Apostle Paul JUDGED and NAMED the NAMES of 8 DECEIVERS in 2nd TIMOTHY

We also encourage you to further read a short article called: BEWARE OF FALSE TEACHERS.

  • Romans 16:17 (KJV) “MARK THEM which cause DIVISIONS & OFFENCES CONTRARY TO THE DOCTRINE which you have learned; and AVOID them.”
  • 2 Timothy 3:13 (NASB) “But EVIL MEN and IMPOSTERS will proceed from BAD to WORSE, DECEIVING and BEING DECEIVED.”

DISCERNMENT

Charles Spurgeon Quotes - SO4J-TV & Video - SO4J.comQuote: “DISCERNMENT is NOT knowing the difference between RIGHT and WRONG. It is knowing the difference between RIGHT and ALMOST RIGHT.”— Charles Spurgeon, Reformed Baptist Preacher, Britain (1834 – 1892)

Do you have BIBLICAL DISCERNMENT & COMPARE what you’re being TAUGHT with GOD’s WORD? There’s just enough TRUTH in what False Teachers say to come across as being Credible & Biblical. That’s why Jesus warns, “Beware of the False Prophets”! (Matt 7:15-20)

Matthew 7:15-16 (NASB) Jesus warns, “BEWARE of FALSE PROPHETS, who come to you in SHEEP’S CLOTHING, but INWARDLY are RAVENOUS WOLVES. You will KNOW THEM by their FRUITS..”

– Matthew 24:11 (NASB) Jesus warns, “MANY FALSE PROPHETS will RISE UP & DECEIVE MANY.”  MORE: FALSE TEACHERS SCRIPTURES

Judging vs Biblical Discernment

Video: Biblical Discernment in the Last Days – Mike Gendron

Judging Others - Should Christians Judge?

So many churches these days Preach a: Worldly Man-centered pragmatic Shallow “gospel” that is focused merely on this life, and is CONTRARY to God’s Word VS the TRUE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ which is about the Good News of  “REPENTANCE & FAITH in JESUS.” (i.e. Mark 1:15). So many professing Christians lack Biblical Discernment as well. Professing Christians should be diligently SEARCHING THE SCRIPTURES DAILY (Acts 17:11), and BE DISCERNING and COMPARE what you are  HEARING— from these False Teachers (and anyone, including us) along with their False Prophecies (that are Mixed with Truth in their Sermons), and Compare it w/God’s Word. Remember too, it’s not always what False Teachers say, it’s what they DON’T say. MANY seem to ONLY want to talk about “God’s Love” (along w/their: Money-talk,and /or Self-Esteem, or Pragmatic people-pleasing talk, and more)– they are  at all preaching like: Jesus, Paul, Peter, etc. did when they would warn people and talk about: Sin, Hell, the Coming Judgment, etc (John 16:8). Love is NOT merely giving people what they want, Love Warns too of Danger, which is also what this video aims to do.

WHEN IT COMES TO JUDGING: Believer’s in Jesus Christ are NOT to Judge a person’s MOTIVES (Matt 7:1), but we ARE to Judge a Fellow Believer’s & Teachers: FRUIT / ACTIONS (Matt 7:15-20, John 7:24, 1 Cor 5:12–13, 1 John 4:1); to make sure they’re NOT Teaching CONTRARY to GOD’S WORD, and that the ESSENTIAL CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE is CORRECT, for the Protection of Gods People, His Sheep (John 10).

  • Matthew 7:15-20 (NKJV) Jesus warns, “BEWARE of the FALSE PROPHETS, who COME TO YOU in SHEEP’S CLOTHING but INWARDLY are RAVENOUS WOLVES. You will KNOW THEM (identify them) by their FRUITS. Do men gather GRAPES from THORNBUSHES or FIGS from THISTLES? Even so, EVERY GOOD TREE bears GOOD FRUIT, but a BAD TREE bears BAD FRUIT. A GOOD TREE CANNOT bear BAD FRUIT, NOR can a BAD TREE bear GOOD FRUIT. EVERY TREE that does NOT bear GOOD FRUIT is CUT DOWN and THROWN into the FIRE. Therefore by THEIR FRUITS you will KNOW THEM.”
  • John 7:24 (NKJV) “Do Not JUDGE according to Appearance, but JUDGE with RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT.”
  • 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 (ESV) “For what have I to do with JUDGING OUTSIDERS (unbelievers)? Is it not those INSIDE the CHURCH (believers) whom you are to JUDGE? GOD JUDGES those OUTSIDE. “Purge the evil person from among you.” 1 Cor 6:1-20 (ESV) “When one of you has a grievance against another, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints? Or do you not know that the SAINTS will JUDGE the WORLD? And if the WORLD is to be JUDGED by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? Do you not know that we are to JUDGE ANGELS? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life!”
  • 1 John 4:1 (NKJV) “Beloved, do NOT Believe EVERY spirit (those CLAIMING to SPEAK BY THE SPIRIT), but TEST the SPIRITS, whether they are of God; because MANY FALSE PROPHETS have gone out into the World.”
  • 1 Corinthians 14:29 (NKJV) “Let Two or Three PROPHETS SPEAK, and let the OTHERS JUDGE.”
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (NASB) “But EXAMINE (TEST) EVERYTHING CAREFULLYHOLD FAST (hold on) to that which is GOOD.”

It Is UNLOVING to Not Judge & Examine False Teachings—Warn Believers

Video: Judge Not – John MacArthur Explains What “Judge Not” Means

If a certain Bible Teacher continually Teaches error (re: Essential Christian Doctrine, etc) after they, the the Bible Teacher or Professing Christian, has been warned by the Body of Christ of this Error— it would be very UNLOVING & BIBLICALLY INCORRECT if we, God’s People, didn’t lovingly WARN other FELLOW BROTHERS & SISTERS in Christ (like Jesus, Peter, Paul, etc. See below: Naming Names) of these BIBLICAL ERRORS. We are to WARN others out of LOVE for the TRUTH (Eph 4:15, Jude 1:1-4) & for the ETERNAL SAFETY of God’s People, His Flock (Acts 20:28-32, 1 Peter 5:2-4, John 10). We Warn others of the DANGERS of these Teachings &/or False Teachers who are PREACHING & TEACHING things that are CONTRARY to God’s Word— those who are keeping people Focused on this Life, on the BROAD PATH leading to Destruction (Hell) with their: Vague Watered-Down-gospel of Half-truths, etc. It does NOT matter what the INTENTIONS or MOTIVES of these Ministers are either— i.e. A False Teacher might be a WELL MEANING PERSON, who’s Agenda might NOT be out to Intentionally hurt God’s People. In fact they might believe 1000% that they are doing God’s Work. But whether they’re out to Deceive people on Purpose or Not, it doesn’t matter— as this False Teacher might be a Victim of Satan’s Lies himself— being that he is DUPED & DECEIVED! See More at this Link: BEWARE OF FALSE TEACHERS. And there are many Ministers who are NOT doing what God’s Word Exhorts them to do and that is to GUARD the SHEEP (God’s People, His Flock) that has been ENTRUSTED to THEM. (Acts 20:28-32, 1 Tim 6:20-21, 1 Peter 5:2-4).

  • Acts 20:28-32 (NASB) “Be on GUARD for YOURSELVES and for ALL the FLOCK, among which the HOLY SPIRIT has made you OVERSEERS, to SHEPHERD the CHURCH of GOD which HE PURCHASED with HIS OWN BLOOD. For I know this, that AFTER my DEPARTURE SAVAGE WOLVES will COME IN AMONG YOU, NOT SPARING the FLOCK. Therefore be on the ALERT, remembering that NIGHT and DAY for a period of THREE YEARS I did NOT CEASE to ADMONISH EACH ONE with TEARS. And now I commend you to God and to the word of HIS GRACE, which is able to BUILD YOU UP and to give you the INHERITANCE among ALL THOSE who are SANCTIFIED.”
  • 1 Timothy 6:20-21 (NASB) Paul— “O Timothy, GUARD what has been ENTRUSTED to YOU, AVOID WORLDLY and EMPTY CHATTER and the OPPOSING ARGUMENTS of what is FALSELY called “KNOWLEDGE“, which some have PROFESSED and thus GONE ASTRAY from the FAITH. GRACE be with you.”
  • 1 Peter 5:2-4 (NKJV)SHEPHERD the FLOCK of GOD which is AMONG YOU, SERVING as OVERSEERS, NOT by COMPULSION but WILLINGLY, NOT for DISHONEST GAIN but EAGERLY; NOR as being lords over those ENTRUSTED to YOU, but being EXAMPLES to the FLOCK; and when the CHIEF SHEPHERD APPEARS, you will RECEIVE the CROWN of GLORY that does NOT FADE AWAY.”

We are to Warn and/or Lovingly Correct any Bible Teachers out there who are saying things that are CONTRARY to God’s Word. Acts 20:26-32; Gal 1:6-9; 2 Tim 2:17-18, Eph 5:11, Ezek 3:17-19. – See Below: WHAT SHOULD OUR ATTITUDE BE WHEN WE SHARE BIBLICAL TRUTH?

Video: Correcting False Teachers By Name?!

  • Ezekiel 3:17-19 “I have Appointed you as a WATCHMAN…Whenever you receive a MESSAGE from me, WARN the PEOPLE IMMEDIATELY…if you FAIL to DELIVER THE WARNING, they will DIE in THEIRSINS. And I will HOLD YOU RESPONSIBLE for their DEATHS. If you WARN THEM and they REFUSE to REPENT & KEEP ON SINNING, they will DIE in THEIRSINS. But you will have SAVED YOURSELF because you OBEYED ME.”

We should be VIGILANT & DISCIPLINED in our STUDY of GOD’s WORD (1 Tim 2:15) to be constantly SEARCHING & “EXAMINING THE SCRIPTURES” (Acts 17:11) closely to see if what we ourselves, and/or a Bible Teacher or Preacher is saying is TRUTH or not— OR is it TWISTING of the SCRIPTURE (whether deliberately or not), like Satan did in the Garden of Eden when he deceived Adam & Eve. We are to Examine what we are Teaching in light of the God’s Word; that goes for us at SO4J-TV too.

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (NASB) “But EXAMINE (TEST) EVERYTHINGCAREFULLY;HOLD FAST (hold on) to that which is GOOD.”

Naming Names – Paul Warns Believers about 8 False Converts – 2 Timothy

If A Preacher or Teacher is NOT Correctly Teaching Essential Christian Doctrine (the True Gospel of Jesus Christ, etc.) and the Teaching is keeping people focused on this Life & on the Broad Path to Hell, OR if they are Prophesying Falsely (Deut 13:1-18, Deut 18:20-22), we are to “MARK THEM” (NAME NAMES of False Teachers & Deceivers)— of which Paul did 8 TIMES in 2 Timothy seen below. (SEE ARTICLE: WHY IS THE WORD OF FAITH PROSPERITY GOSPEL SO UNBIBLICAL?)

  • Romans 16:17-18 (KJV) MARK THEM which cause DIVISIONS & OFFENCES CONTRARY to the DOCTRINE which you have learned; and AVOID them. For they that are such SERVE NOT our Lord Jesus Christ, but their OWN BELLY (personal interests); and by GOOD WORDS & FAIR SPEECHES (smooth talk) DECEIVE the HEARTS of the SIMPLE (i.e. innocent, unsuspecting, naive, undiscerning).”

Video: Should We Speak Out Against False Prophets & False Teachers?

False Teachers must be SILENCED as Titus 1:10-14 rightly states. They are: Rebellious, Mere Talkers, and Deceivers:

  • Titus 1:9-16 (NASB) “HOLD[ing] FAST the FAITHFUL WORD which is in accordance with the TEACHING, so that he [you] will be able BOTH to EXHORT in SOUND DOCTRINE and to REFUTE those who CONTRADICT. 10) For there are MANY REBELLIOUS men, EMPTY TALKERS and DECEIVERS… who MUST be SILENCED because they are UPSETTING whole FAMILIES, TEACHING things they should NOT TEACH for the sake of SORDID [greedy, filthy, shameful] GAIN. 12) One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always LIARS, EVIL BEASTS, LAZY GLUTTONS.” 13) This testimony is true. For this reason REPROVE them SEVERELY so that they may be SOUND in the FAITH, 14) NOT paying attention to Jewish MYTHS and COMMANDMENTS OF MEN who TURN AWAY from the TRUTH. 15) To the PURE, ALL things are PURE; but to those who are DEFILED and UNBELIEVING, NOTHING is PURE, but BOTH their MIND and their CONSCIENCE are DEFILED. 16) They PROFESS to KNOW GOD, but by their DEEDS they DENY HIM, being DETESTABLE and DISOBEDIENT and WORTHLESS for ANY DEED.”

The Apostle Paul “Name Names” of 8 Deceivers— for the Protection of the Church— in 2nd Timothy. Here are the 8 Deceivers:

8 Deceivers – The Apostle Paul “Names the Names” of 8 Deceivers in 2 Timothy

1 – Phygellus – 2 Timothy 1:15
2 – Hermogenes- 2 Timothy 1:15
3 – Hymenaeus 2 Timothy 2:17
4 – Philetus – 2 Timothy 2:17
5 – Jannes – 2 Timothy 3:8
6 – Jambres – 2 Timothy 3:8
7 – Demas – 2 Timothy 4:10
8 – Alexander the Coppersmith – 2 Timothy 4:14

1 – Phygellus – 2 Timothy 1:15

  • 2 Timothy 1:15 Paul said, “This you know, that all those in Asia have TURNED AWAY FROM ME, among whom are PHYGELLUS and Hermogenes.”

2 – Hemogenes – 2 Timothy 1:15

  • 2 Timothy 1:15 Paul said, “This you know, that all those in Asia have TURNED AWAY FROM ME, among whom are Phygellus and HEMOGENES.”

3 – Hymenaeus – 2 Timothy 1:17

  • 2 Timothy 2:17 Paul warns, “And their MESSAGE will SPREAD LIKE CANCER. HYMENAEUS and Philetusare of this sort..”

4 – Philetus – 2 Timothy 1:17

  • 2 Timothy 2:17 Paul warns, “And their MESSAGE will SPREAD LIKE CANCER. Hymenaeus and PHILETUS are of this sort..”

5 – Jannes – 2 Timothy 3:8

  • 2 Timothy 3:8 Paul warns, “Now as JANNES and Jambres RESISTED Moses, so do these also RESIST THE TRUTH: MEN OF CORRUPT MINDS, DISAPPROVED concerning the FAITH..”

6 – Jambres – 2 Timothy 3:8

  • 2 Timothy 3:8 Paul warns, “Now as Jannes and JAMBRESRESISTED Moses, so do these also RESIST THE TRUTH: MEN OF CORRUPT MINDS, DISAPPROVED concerning the FAITH..”

7 – Demas – 2 Timothy 4:10

  • 2 Timothy 4:10 Paul warns, “..for DEMAS has FORSAKEN ME, having LOVED this PRESENT world, and has DEPARTED for Thessalonica–Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia.”

8 – Alexander the Coppersmith – 2 Timothy 4:14

  • 2 Timothy 4:14ALEXANDER THE COPPERSMITH did me MUCH HARM. May the Lord REPAY him According to his WORKS..”

If Paul didn’t make any Judgments, and warn fellow Believers about these various people in 2 Timothy (above), then some of the True Believers might have unknowingly gotten involved with these people, and led astray in their Worldly ways, etc.

Jesus Warned us about a Great Deception in the End Times (Matt 24:11), it is here, Right Now (2 Tim 4:3-4,1 Tim 4:1). There are MANY Preachers who Preach a Feel Good gospel which keeps people on the BROAD PATH (Matt 7:13-14), and focused on this Temporal Life (2 Cor 4:17-18, Gal 1:6-12) vs what Jesus taught us in Luke 9:23-24; Matt 10:37-39.

  • Philippians 3:18-19 “For I have told you often before, and I say it again with Tears in my eyes, that there are MANY whose CONDUCT SHOWS they are really ENEMIES of the CROSS of CHRIST. They are headed for DESTRUCTION. Their god is their Appetite, they Brag about shameful things, and they THINK ONLY ABOUT THIS LIFE HERE ON EARTH.”

We are to Contend Earnestly for the Faith!

Video: Why We Must Contend Earnestly For The Faith – Bob DeWaay

  • Jude 1:1-4 (NKJV) “Jude warns, “Jude, a Bondservant of Jesus Christ (Half Brother of Jesus), and Brother of James— To those who are CALLED, SANCTIFIED by GOD the FATHER, & PRESERVED in JESUS: MERCY, PEACE, and LOVE be MULTIPLIED to you. Beloved, while I was VERY DILIGENT to WRITE to you concerning our COMMON SALVATION, I found it NECESSARY to WRITE to you EXHORTING you to CONTEND EARNESTLY for the FAITH which was once for all delivered to the SAINTS. For CERTAIN MEN have CREPT IN UNNOTICED, who long ago were marked out for this Condemnation, UNGODLY men, who TURN the GRACE of our GOD into LEWDNESS and DENY the only LORD GOD and our LORD JESUS CHRIST.”

We are NOT to Tolerate False Teaching— Jesus did NOT Tolerate False Teaching (Rev 2:2-3,6).

  • Revelation 2:2-3 Jesus says, “I know all the things you DO. I have seen your Hard Work and your Patient Endurance. I know you DON’T TOLERATE EVIL PEOPLE. You have EXAMINED CLAIMS of those who SAY they are APOSTLES but are NOT. You have DISCOVERED they are LIARS. Beware of False Teachers & Prophets – Jesus Warns us MANY Times

We are told ahead of time to BEWARE!

  • Matthew 24:11 (NASB) Jesus warns, “MANY FALSE PROPHETS will RISE UP and DECEIVEMANY.”
  • Matthew 24:23-26 Jesus says “Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it. For FALSE MESSIAHS and FALSE PROPHETS will rise up and perform GREAT SIGNS and WONDERS so as to DECEIVE, if Possible even GOD’S CHOSEN ONES. See, I have WARNED YOU about this AHEAD OF TIME. “So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it!”
  • 2 Timothy 4:1-5 (NKJV) “I Charge you therefore before GOD & the Lord JESUS CHRIST, who will JUDGE the Living & the Dead at His Appearing & His Kingdom: PREACH THE WORD! Be Ready in Season & Out of Season. CONVINCE, REBUKE, EXHORT, with all LONGSUFFERING & TEACHING. For the Time will come when they will NOT ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE, but according to their OWN DESIRES, because they have ITCHING EARS, they will HEAP up for themselves TEACHERS; and they will TURN their EARS AWAY from the TRUTH, and be turned aside to FABLES. But you be WATCHFUL in ALL things, ENDURE AFFLICTIONS, do the Work of an Evangelist, fulfill your Ministry.”
  • 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (NKJV) “For such are FALSE APOSTLES, DECEITFUL WORKERS, transforming themselves into APOSTLES OF CHRIST. And no wonder! For SATAN HIMSELF TRANSFORMS HIMSELF into an ANGEL OF LIGHT.” Therefore it isno great thing if his MINISTERS also TRANSFORM THEMSELVES into MINISTERS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, whose END will be according to their WORKS.”

We are to Rescue Others, Snatching Them from Flames of Judgment

After Jude warns of False Teachers he tell us to “RESCUE OTHERS”:

  • Jude 1:23 RESCUE OTHERS by SNATCHING them from the FLAMES OF JUDGMENT. SHOWMERCY to still others, but do so with GREAT CAUTION, hating the SINS that contaminate their lives.”

We are to “RESCUE” those who are unknowingly involving themselves in False Teachings / False gospel’s. We RESCUE them by Preaching the TRUE GOSPEL.

  • 2 Timothy 4:1-5 (NKJV) “I Charge you therefore before GOD & the Lord JESUS CHRIST, who will JUDGE the Living & the Dead at His Appearing & His Kingdom: (2) PREACH THE WORD!

What Should Our Attitude Be When We Share Biblical Truth?

When we JUDGE righteously (John 7:24)and/or CORRECT BAD DOCTRINE (2 Tim 4:1-5) we are to have a HUMBLE ATTITUDE (Phil 2:5-11)“SPEAKING the TRUTH in LOVE” (Eph 4:15) while we CORRECT those that are in OPPOSITION to Biblcally Sound Doctrine (2 Tim 2:23-26). We do this with MEAKNESS & the FEAR of the LORD (1 Peter 3:15), showing GREAT PATIENCE (2 Tim 4:2) & “FRUITS of the SPIRIT” too (Gal 5:22-24).

  • 2 Timothy 2:23-26 “AVOID FOOLISH & IGNORANT DISPUTES, Knowing that they GENERATE STRIFE. A SERVANT of the LORD must NOT QUARREL but be GENTLE to ALL, able to TEACH, PATIENT in HUMILITY correcting those in OPPOSITION, if God perhaps will grant them REPENTANCE, so that they may KNOW the TRUTH, & that they may come to their SENSES & ESCAPE the SNARE of the DEVIL, having been taken CAPTIVE.”
  • 1 Peter 3:15 (NKJV)SANCTIFY the LORD GOD in your HEARTS, & ALWAYS be READY to give a DEFENSE to EVERYONE who asks you a REASON for the HOPE that is in you, with MEAKNESS and FEAR.”
  • 2 Timothy 4:1-2 (NKJV) “I Charge you therefore before GOD & the Lord JESUS CHRIST, who will JUDGE the Living & the Dead at His Appearing & His Kingdom: PREACH THE WORD! Be Ready in Season & Out of Season. CONVINCE, REBUKE, EXHORT, with all LONGSUFFERING (Great Patience) & TEACHING.”
  • Ephesians 4:13-15 (NKJV) “we should no longer be CHILDREN, TOSSED TO and FRO and carried about with EVERY WIND of DOCTRINE, by the TRICKERY of MEN, in the CUNNING CRAFTINESS of DECEITFUL PLOTTING, but, SPEAKING the TRUTH in LOVE, may GROW UP in ALL things into HIM who is the HEAD—CHRIST..”
  • Jude 1:23 RESCUE OTHERS by SNATCHING them from the FLAMES OF JUDGMENT. Show MERCY to still others, but do so with GREAT CAUTION, hating the SINS that contaminate their lives.”

Jesus Told Us To Beware of False Teachers for a Reason!

Yes, Jesus told us to BEWARE of FALSE TEACHERS for a Reason.

A False Prophet or False Teacher does Not always come off as a False Teacher! In fact in Matt 7:15-23 Jesus told us that they are “WOLVESDISGUISED in SHEEP’S CLOTHING”. So in other words a False Teacher might come across as a Nice person, Good Communicator, and have a Good Sense of Humor as well. They might be Well liked, Thoughtful, Full of Excellence, very Genuine, and might Say Thought Provoking things (with Scripture mixed in as well), that Motivates and/or Inspires you— and makes you want to get a Pen & Paper to write their Ideas down as quick as you can.

A False Teacher might be a well meaning person, who’s agenda might Not be out to Intentionally hurt God’s People. In fact they might believe 1000% that they are doing God’s Work. But whether they’re out to Deceive people on Purpose or Not, it doesn’t matter— as this False Teacher might be a Victim of Satan’s Lies himself!

Jesus told us to BEWARE for a Reason— because these False Teachers are DANGEROUS WOLVES (Acts 20:29-32, Matt 7:15-19). They lead people to Believe that are on the right Road to Heaven, when really these people are unknowingly on the BROAD PATH that leads to HELL (Matt 7:13-14)!

The False Teacher DOESN’T tell people the True Terms of the Gospel, as they’d prefer to WATER DOWN THE GOSPEL in order to be well liked.

  • 2 Peter 2:1-3 (NKJV) “But there were also FALSE PROPHETS among the people, even as there will be FALSE TEACHERS among you, who will SECRETLY bring in DESTRUCTIVE HERESIES, even DENYING the LORD who bought them, and bring on themselves SWIFT DESTRUCTION. And MANY will FOLLOW their DESTRUCTIVE WAYS, because of whom the WAY of TRUTH will be BLASPHEMED. By COVETOUSNESS they will EXPLOIT you with DECEPTIVE WORDS; for a LONG TIME their JUDGMENT has NOT been IDLE, and their DESTRUCTION does NOT SLUMBER.”
  • Acts 20:29-32 “I know that FALSE TEACHERS, like VICIOUS WOLVES, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the Flock. Even some men from your own group will rise up and DISTORT THE TRUTH in order to draw a following. Watch out! Remember the three years I was with you—my constant watch and care over you night and day, and my many tears for you. “And now I entrust you to God and the Message of his Grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself.”

The True Gospel is Convicting!

  • John 16:8-9 Jesus says,”When He (the Holy Spirit) comes, He will CONVICT THE WORLD OF IT’S SIN, and of GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS, and of the COMING JUDGMENT. The World’s Sin is that it refuses to believe in Me.”

Jesus was Crucified, Peter, & Paul, and others were thrown into Prison for the True Gospel, Tortured & Suffered (2 Cor 11:23-30, 2 Cor 6:4-10), Murdered for their Faith in God & His Word, etc.

True Biblical Preaching & Teaching might sound like this from Jesus:

  • Luke 9:23-26 Jesus says, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must DENY HIMSELF (yourself), and take up his CROSS DAILY and FOLLOW ME. For whoever wishes to SAVE HIS LIFE will LOSE IT, but whoever LOSES HIS LIFE for My sake, he is the one who will SAVE IT. For what is a man Profited if he GAINST THE WHOLE WORLD, and LOSES or FORFEITS himself (his soul)? For whoever is Ashamed of Me and My Words, the Son of Man will be Ashamed of him when He comes in His Glory, and the Glory of the Father and of the Holy Angels.”

To Warn People about False Prophets & False Teachers is for the Safety of ALL, so that we do not become Deceived (Rev 12:9, Heb 3:13), and be Led Astray (2 Cor 11:13-15, 2 John 1:10-11, Jude 1:1-17).

May the Lord give us Discernment against False Teachers & False Teachings, and may we not be afraid to speak the Truth in Love (Eph 4:15).

Wrongly Labeling True Believers as False Teachers

In closing, here is an important note.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Not all Believers see eye to eye on many important Topics (i.e. KJV Only, etc), but that does NOT make each other a False Teacher. There are quite a number of Christian: Discernment Ministries, Websites, and Blog Sites who are WRONGLY LABELING TRUE BELIEVERS & GODLY MINISTERS as FALSE TEACHERS, because they have a difference of opinion on NON ESSENTIAL CHRISTIAN DOCTRINES which does NOT affect a person’s Salvation. A True Believer is constantly growing in the Knowledge of the Scriptures (Acts 17:11), and none of us has arrived with perfect Knowledge (1 Cor 13:12-13); so we must show some GRACE & GREAT PATIENCE (2 Tim 4:2) to Fellow Believers who do not believe as you do on these NON ESSENTIAL CHRISTIAN DOCTRINES. That is our desire at SO4J-TV.

We do believe that we are to Name the Names of False Teachers & False Prophets so as to warn fellow Believers of the many Deceptions in the Church (1 Tim 1:3-6, Rom 16:17-18). We should however be reminded to be very careful not to make Judgments based on Non Essential Christian Doctrine— which does not affect ones Salvation.

We are not talking about those Ministers who are wrongly Prophesying Falsely (such as Benny Hinn), or who are Preaching the False Teachings of the Self-Esteem Prosperity gospel (Health & Wealth— see FALSE TEACHERS & FALSE PROPHETS – VIDEOS, AUDIOS, ARTICLES) for that truly is another gospel that is contrary to the Teachings of Christ – Gal 1:6-12.

What does the Bible mean that we are not to Judge others?

By Got Questions

Question: “What does the Bible mean that we are not to Judge others?”

Answer: This is an issue that has confused many people. On one hand, we are commanded by the Lord Jesus in Matthew 7:1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged”. On the other hand, the Bible also exhorts us to beware of evildoers and false prophets and to avoid those who practice all kinds of evil (Matthew 7:15-20). How are we to discern who these people are if we do not make some kind of judgment about them?

Christians are often accused of “judging” whenever they speak out against a sinful activity. However, that is not the meaning of the Scripture verses that state, “Do not judge.” There is a righteous kind of judgment we are supposed to exercise—with careful discernment (John 7:24). When Jesus told us not to judge (Matthew 7:1), He was telling us not to judge hypocritically. Matthew 7:2-5 declares, “For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” What Jesus was condemning here was hypocritical, self-righteous judgments of others.

In Matthew 7:2-5, Jesus warns against judging someone else for his sin when you yourself are sinning even worse. That is the kind of judging Jesus commanded us not to do. If a believer sees another believer sinning, it is his Christian duty to lovingly and respectfully confront the person with his sin (Matthew 18:15-17). This is not judging, but rather pointing out the truth in hope—and with the ultimate goal—of bringing repentance in the other person (James 5:20) and restoration to the fellowship. We are to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). We are to proclaim what God’s Word says about sin. 2 Timothy 4:2 instructs us, “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction.” We are to “judge” sin, but always with the goal of presenting the solution for sin and its consequences—the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6).
