– “The BIG BANG THEORY does NOT contradict the Role of God as divine Creator.” (Francis is sadly a strong believer in Evolution)
– “If someone is GAY and SEARCHING for the LORD and has GOOD WILL then who am I to JUDGE them.” (1 Cor 5:12-13)
– “GOD is NOT a DIVINE BEING or a magician.” (Wow! how unbiblical)

Intro by SO4J-TV

INTRO by SO4J-TV [By Martha Mac]: Everything we are saying on this page about Catholicism is said out of LOVE (Ephesians 4:15, 2 Timothy 2:23-26)— LOVE for MILLIONS that have been either KNOWINGLY (John 3:19, 2 Timothy 4:1-5) or UNKNOWINGLY being led astray down the WRONG PATH [See: NARROW GATE – FEW EVER FIND IT].. the Path Jesus says that leads only to DESTRUCTION (Matthew 7:13-14). Jesus warns us in Matthew 7:21-23 that there are sooo MANY UNSAVED PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY’RE SAVED…and unless we are Truly BORN AGAIN (John 3::3, 2 Cor 5:17) we shall PERISH in HELL FOREVER. Our hope is that you, and all of us, will closely EXAMINE these HERETICAL FALSE TEACHINGS with the God’s Word (Acts 17:11), and Escape from these MANY Deceptions (Rom 16:17-18, 2 Tim 4:1-4)— knowing that Satan Deceives MANY— in fact SATAN DECEIVES THE WHOLE WORLD (Rev 12:9, 2 Cor 4:3-4, Matt 7:21-23). The More Truth that is mixed with Error, the Greater the Deception. Pure water mixed with even a little Poison will kill you (Gal 5:9). May you (we) TRUST in JESUS only— and HIS unfailing WORD today (2 Corinthians 6:2). For Info: Judging Others – Should Christians Judge?

The FALSE GOSPEL of CATHOLICISM focuses on the “TRADITIONS of MEN” VS on PROMOTING & PREACHING the TRUE GOSPEL and GOD’S WORD, etc.:

  • Matthew 15:6 (NASB) Jesus says,”You INVALIDATED (cancel, disregard, undermine) the WORD of GOD for the sake of your TRADITION.
  • Mark 7:8-9 (NASB) Jesus says, “NEGLECTING the COMMANDMENTS of God, you HOLD to the  TRADITION of MEN.” He was also saying to them, “You are EXPERTS at SETTING ASIDE the COMMANDMENT of GOD in order to KEEP your TRADITION.”

The TRUE GOSPEL focuses on HEARING and BELIEVING GODS WORD (Romans 10:17) & the GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST (Mark 1:15) & NOT on the LORD’S EARTHLY MOTHER, MARY (1 Timothy 2:5). WITHOUT FAITH in GOD’S WORD & the TRUE SAVIOR & GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRISTit is IMPOSSIBLE to please GOD. (Read Hebrews 11:6)

  • 1 Timothy 2:5 (NASB) “For there is ONE GOD, and ONE MEDIATOR also between GOD and MEN, the MAN CHRIST JESUS. (NOT MARY!)
  • Ephesians 2:8-10 (NASB) “For by GRACE you have been SAVED through FAITH; and that NOT of yourselves, it is the GIFT OF GOD; NOT as a result of WORKS, so that NO ONE may BOAST.”

Is Catholicism a False Religion? Are Catholics Saved?

Pope Benedict | Catholics - Are They Saved? | SO4J.com

By Got Questions

Question: “Is Catholicism a False Religion? Are Catholics Saved?”

Answer: The most crucial problem with the Roman Catholic Church is its belief that faith alone in Christ is not sufficient for salvation. The Bible clearly and consistently states that receiving Jesus Christ as Savior, by grace through faith, grants salvation (John 1:12; John 3:16,John 18,36; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10,13; Ephesians 2:8-9). The Roman Catholic Church rejects this. The official position of the Roman Catholic Church is that a person must believe in Jesus Christ AND be baptized AND receive the Eucharist along with the other sacraments AND obey the decrees of the Roman Catholic Church AND perform meritorious works AND not die with any mortal sins AND etc., etc., etc. Catholic divergence from the Bible on this most crucial of issues, salvation, means that yes, Catholicism is a false religion. If a person believes what the Catholic Church officially teaches, he/she will not be saved. Any claim that works or rituals must be added to faith in order for salvation to be achieved is a claim that Jesus’ death was not sufficient to fully purchase our salvation.

While salvation by faith is the most crucial issue, in comparing Roman Catholicism with the Word of God, there are many other differences and contradictions as well. The Roman Catholic Church teaches many doctrines that are in disagreement with what the Bible declares. These include apostolic succession, worship of saints or Mary, prayer to saints or Mary, the pope / papacy, infant baptism, transubstantiation, plenary indulgences, the sacramental system, and purgatory. While Catholics claim Scriptural support for these concepts, none of these teachings have any solid foundation in the clear teaching of Scripture. These concepts are based on Catholic tradition, not the Word of God. In fact, they all clearly contradict Biblical principles.

The Pope Kissing the Muslim Koran in 1999 - Catholic Heresy

PHOTO: Pope John Paul II bowed to & Kissed the Koran on: May 14,1999 – The Muslims view the Koran as their “hoIy book”. This so called Koran “holy book” blasphemes the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). It rejects the Divinity of Jesus Christ. For John Paul to Kiss the Koran, which is a Book of False Teaching & False Religion, is an act of Blaspheme.. NOT an act of so-called “respect”.

In regards to the question “Are Catholics saved?”, this is a more difficult question to answer. It is impossible to give a universal statement on the salvation of all members of any denomination of Christianity. Not ALL Baptists are saved. Not ALL Presbyterians are saved. Not ALL Lutherans are saved. Salvation is determined by personal faith in Jesus alone for salvation, not by titles or denominational identification. Despite the unbiblical beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church, there are genuine believers who attend Roman Catholic churches. There are many Roman Catholics who have genuinely placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. However, these Catholic Christians are believers despite what the Catholic Church teaches, not because of what it teaches. To varying degrees, the Catholic Church teaches from the Bible and points people to Jesus Christ as the Savior. As a result, people are sometimes saved in Catholic churches. The Bible has an impact whenever it is proclaimed (Isaiah 55:11). Catholic Christians remain in the Catholic Church out of ignorance of what the Catholic Church truly stands for, out of family tradition and peer pressure, or out of a desire to reach other Catholics for Christ.

At the same time, the Catholic Church also leads many people away from a genuine faith relationship with Christ. The unbiblical beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church have often given the enemies of Christ opportunity to blaspheme. The Roman Catholic Church is not the church that Jesus Christ established. It is not a church that is based on the teachings of the Apostles (as described in the Book of Acts and the New Testament epistles). While Jesus’ words in Mark 7:9 were directed towards the Pharisees, they accurately describe the Roman Catholic Church, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!”

What Does the Bible Say about the virgin Mary?

Pope and Mary Worship | Catholics - Are They Saved? | SO4J.com

By Got Questions

Question: “What does the Bible say about the virgin Mary?”

Answer: Mary the mother of Jesus was described by God as “highly favored” (Luke 1:28). The phrase “highly favored” comes from a single Greek word, which essentially means “much grace.” Mary received God’s grace.

Grace is “unmerited favor,” meaning that something we receive despite the fact that we do not deserve it. Mary needed grace from God just as the rest of us do. Mary herself understood this fact, as she declared in Luke 1:47, “. . . and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior. . .”

Mary recognized that she needed the Savior. The Bible never says that Mary was anyone but an ordinary human whom God chose to use in an extraordinary way. Yes, Mary was a righteous woman and favored (graced) by God (Luke 1:27-28). At the same time, Mary was a sinful human being who needed Jesus Christ as her Savior, just like everyone else (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 6:23; 1 John 1:8).

Mary did not have an “immaculate conception.” The Bible doesn’t suggest Mary’s birth was anything but a normal human birth. Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus (Luke 1:34-38), but the idea of the perpetual virginity of Mary is unbiblical. Matthew 1:25, speaking of Joseph, declares, “But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave Him the name Jesus.”

Roman Catholicism – Mike Gendron – The Master’s Seminary [John MacArthur] – TMS

[Mike Gendron explains the Biblical view of Christianity & Sola Scriptura.. Very good!]

The word “until” clearly indicates that Joseph and Mary did have sexual union after Jesus was born. Joseph and Mary had several children together after Jesus was born. Jesus had four half-brothers: James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas (Matthew 13:55). Jesus also had half-sisters, although they are not named or numbered (Matthew 13:55-56). God blessed and graced Mary by giving her several children, which in that culture was the clearest indication of God’s blessing on a woman.

One time when Jesus was speaking, a woman in the crowd proclaimed, “Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed” (Luke 11:27). There was never a better opportunity for Jesus to declare that Mary was indeed worthy of praise and adoration. What was Jesus’ response? “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it” (Luke 11:28). To Jesus, obedience to God’s Word was more important than being the woman who gave birth to the Savior.

Nowhere in Scripture does Jesus, or anyone else, direct any praise, glory, or adoration towards Mary. Elizabeth, Mary’s relative, praised Mary in Luke 1:42-44, but her praise is based on the blessing of giving birth to the Messiah. It was not based on any inherent glory in Mary.

Mary was present at the cross when Jesus died (John 19:25). Mary was also with the apostles on the day of Pentecost (Acts 1:14). However, Mary is never mentioned again after Acts chapter 1. The apostles did not give Mary a prominent role. Mary’s death is not recorded in the Bible. Nothing is said about Mary ascending to heaven or having an exalted role there. As the earthly mother of Jesus, Mary should be respected, but she is not worthy of our worship or adoration.

The Bible nowhere indicates that Mary can hear our prayers or that she can mediate for us with God. Jesus is our only advocate and mediator in heaven (1 Timothy 2:5). If offered worship, adoration, or prayers, Mary would say the same as the angels: “Worship God!” (See Revelation 19:10; 22:9.) Mary herself sets the example for us, directing her worship, adoration, and praise to God alone: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has been mindful of the humble state of His servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me — holy is His name” (Luke 1:46-49).

Is Prayer to Saints or Mary Biblical?

By Got Questions

Question: “Is Prayer to Saints / Mary Biblical?”

Answer: The issue of Catholics praying to saints is one that is full of confusion. It is the official position of the Roman Catholic Church that Catholics do not pray TO saints or Mary, but rather that Catholics can ask saints or Mary to pray FOR them. The official position of the Roman Catholic Church is that asking saints for their prayers is no different than asking someone here on earth to pray for you. However, the practice of many Catholics diverges from official Roman Catholic teaching. Many Catholics do in fact pray directly to saints and/or Mary, asking them for help – instead of asking the saints and/or Mary to intercede with God for help. Whatever the case, whether a saint or Mary is being prayed to, or asked to pray, neither practice has any Biblical basis.

Mary Worship = Idolotry - False Teaching: Roman Catholics - SO4J.com

The Bible nowhere instructs believers in Christ to pray to anyone other than God. The Bible nowhere encourages, or even mentions, believers asking individuals in Heaven for their prayers. Why, then, do many Catholic pray to Mary and/or the saints, or request their prayers? Catholics view Mary and saints as “intercessors” before God. They believe that a saint, who is glorified in Heaven, has more “direct access” to God than we do. Therefore, if a saint delivers a prayer to God, it is more effective than us praying to God directly. This concept is blatantly unbiblical. Hebrews 4:16 tells us that we, believers here on earth, can “…approach the throne of grace with confidence…”

1 Timothy 2:5 declares, “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” There is no one else that can mediate with God for us. If Jesus is the ONLY mediator, that indicates Mary and saints cannot be mediators. They cannot mediate our prayer requests to God. Further, the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ Himself is interceding for us before the Father, “Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them” (Hebrews 7:25). With Jesus Himself interceding for us, why would we need Mary or the saints to intercede for us? Who would God listen to more closely than His Son? Romans 8:26-27 describes the Holy Spirit interceding for us. With the 2nd and 3rd members of the Trinity already interceding for us before the Father in Heaven, what possible need could there be to have Mary or the saints interceding for us?

Catholics argue that praying to Mary and the saints is no different than asking someone here on earth to pray for you. Let us examine that claim. (1) The Apostle Paul asks other Christians to pray for him in Ephesians 6:19. Many Scriptures describe believers praying for one another (2 Corinthians 1:11; Ephesians 1:16; Philippians 1:19; 2 Timothy 1:3). The Bible nowhere mentions anyone asking for someone in Heaven to pray for them. The Bible nowhere describes anyone in Heaven praying for anyone on earth. (2) The Bible gives absolutely no indication that Mary or the saints can hear our prayers. Mary and the saints are not omniscient. Even glorified in Heaven, they are still finite beings with limitations. How could they possibly hear the prayers of millions of people? Whenever the Bible mentions praying to or speaking with the dead, it is in the context of sorcery, witchcraft, necromancy, and divination – activities the Bible strongly condemns (Leviticus 20:27; Deuteronomy 18:10-13). The one instance when a “saint” is spoken to, Samuel in 1 Samuel 28:7-19, Samuel was not exactly happy to be disturbed. It is plainly clear that praying to Mary or the saints is completely different from asking someone here on earth to pray for you. One has a strong Biblical basis, the other has no Biblical basis whatsoever.

God does not answer prayers based on who is praying. God answers prayers based on whether they are asked according to His will (1 John 5:14-15). There is absolutely no basis or need to pray to anyone other than God alone. There is no basis for asking those who are in Heaven to pray for us. Only God can hear our prayers. Only God can answer our prayers. No one in Heaven has any greater access to God’s throne that we do through prayer (Hebrews 4:16).

Wasn’t it the Catholic Church that was Responsible for the Bible Being Written?

End Times Fast Facts

By David W. Daniels

Answer: No. The Catholic Church tried to take credit for what the Lord did without their help. Here is a short History of the Bible.

1 – Old Testament

The Old Testament was written by Moses, David and Solomon, prophets, seers and kings. There was no “church” of any kind to claim responsibility for it. God inspired individuals to bring God’s word to the people. The Old Testament is the recorded revelation of God up until about 400 BC.

2 – The Inter-Testamental Period

The time between about 400 BC and about 5 BC is usually called the Years of Prophetic Silence. This is because God created a process that lasted 400 years to create a world climate ready for the coming of the promised Messiah. There was no “church” at this time, either. But there was the new creation of the “synagogue,” since the Jewish people needed to worship God and did not have the Temple when they were in exile. When many came back 400-500 BC, they already had functional synagogues; and even though the Temple was being rebuilt by those returning from exile, the synagogue idea remained and more were built. This was the beginning of the “congregation” or “church” as we have it today. But there was no Scripture being written during this period. That was yet to come after one came “in the spirit and power of Elias” (Luke 1:17).

3 – The Time of Christ

It is likely that Matthew (Levi) the tax collector and later disciple of Jesus took notes of what happened during Jesus’ ministry. However, it is also true that were God in the flesh living among you, His words would burn into your soul. I am sure, as the apostles clearly recollected as they wrote the New Testament (2 Peter 1:16-21; 1 John 1:1-3; 4:14), they could not escape the image and words of Jesus Christ, God the Son and Son of God, when He spoke into their hearts (Luke 9:44; 24:32). But it wasn’t a “church” that made them write.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
  • 2 Peter 1:19-21 says, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. God the Holy Spirit inspired them, perfectly and accurately, to write the words of God for the church. The church did not “inspire” anything.”

4 – The Church Age

When the apostles wrote their letters, the congregations received them. They read them. They spread them. They copied them for other brethren in Christ Jesus. And they recognized their authority in the Christian’s life. So the Scriptures were produced by men of God, not by “the church.” But they were produced FOR the church.

The last book of the Bible was Revelation, written about 96 AD, just before the apostle John died around 100 AD. After the apostles died, the churches continued to collect the letters they did not have, to read them and understand the authority under God by which they wrote.

But no one else shared that place. There is an “epistle of Barnabas” (which bears no proof it was written by Barnabas), which many think was penned in the first century. But the difference between its message of salvation and of the apostolic writings is too easy to see. If you believe the Scriptures, you cannot believe the so-called “epistle of Barnabas.”

There are the writings of Polycarp, disciple of John (when John was very aged). There are writings of Clement and others. But those are all writings of Christians. Just Christians. Some were even martyrs, but their writings depended on the Scriptures–they were not Scripture themselves. Anyone who would base their faith on them would have a horrid foundation, just as if there were “Lutherans” today, learning of God’s word only what they find in Martin Luther’s writings. Interesting writing, at times “inspirational” writing, fine. Inspired? Not a chance.

The Roman Catholic church has had only one aim from its earliest, pagan and political origins: To destroy the true Christians, and to destroy their Bible…” (article continues)

Pope John Paul II Being “Blessed” by a Hindu Priest – Feb 2, 1986

Pope John Paul II Bowed to & Kissed the Koran – May 14, 1999

John Paul II is being blessed by a Hindu Priest on: Feb 2, 1986 - Receiving the mark of adorers of Shiva - False Teaching: Roman Catholics - SO4J.com

Pope John Paul II receives the “Mark of the Adorers of Shiva”

Here John Paul II is receiving a so-called “blessing” from a Hindu Priest on his forehead the Tilac or Tika, which is a red powdery paste of the Hindus, the Sign of Recognition of the adorers of Shiva. This is 100% Apostasy. Shiva, pronounced SHEE vuh, is one of the two leading gods of Hinduism. Vishnu is the other. Shiva, a “god of great power”, is beyond distinctions of good and evil. Hindus call him the “Destroyer” because he periodically destroys the world in order to re-create it again. Once again Apostasy… this is NOT what Jesus told us to be doing.

The Pope Kissing the Koran - May 14, 1999 - False Teaching: Roman Catholics - SO4J.com

John Paul II bowed to & Kissed the Koran – May 14,1999

The Muslims view the Koran as their “holy book”. This so called Koran “holybook” blasphemes the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). It rejects the Divinity of Jesus Christ. For John Paul to Kiss the Koran, which is a Book of False Teaching & False Religion, is an act of Blaspheme, NOT an act of so-called “Respect.”

What Does God’s Word Say About This?

  • Exodus 20:1-5 “Then God gave the people all these instructions: “I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery. “You must not have any other god but Me. “You must NOT make for yourself an Idol of any kind or an image of anything in the Heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods.”

If the Pope had been a True Believer, this is what he should have known:

  • 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 “Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. Shocking & Unbiblical Quotes – from Pope John Paul II

John Paul II - Book of Mary - SO4J.com
“John Paul II’s Book of Mary”

INTRO: Scott from SO4J-TV (who is a Born Again Christian) is going to make Commentary after certain Quotes taken from the Late Pope John Paul II’s Unbiblical & Heretical Book that he wrote called: “John Paul II’s Book of Mary” on Amazon.

Intro Commentary – By Scott from SO4J-TV: “Having been brought up Catholic, I had certain understandings about the Catholic faith. And something I always wondered about was: “Praying to Mary”. When I would ask fellow Catholics questions like: “Why do Catholics Pray To Mary?” My usual response back was that “Catholics don’t Pray TO Mary, but they Pray THROUGH Mary”, or something like that. Desiring to get answers, I bought a Book that was written by the late Pope John Paul II that is entitled, “John Paul II’s Book of Mary.” What I am writing to you today about is NOT a Personal Attack on the late Pope, but rather a look at the Revealing & Unbiblical things he said during his Papacy. I hope and pray that I can Educate people, and Alert those people who call themselves a Catholic to examine such statements in the light of God’s Word. All of these Quotes & Statements below are— Unbiblical, and NOT found in God’s Word, and are ALL Contrary to God’s Word. My hope is to: Warn, Alert, and Educate Catholics especially— so that it might lead them to a discussion about the Bible & Biblical Truth. Let’s ask ourselves, are these teachings below Biblical? (Acts 17:11, 2 Cor 13:5) Is this what Jesus, and God’s Word taught us? See for yourself in these short excerpts. Read your Bible, as see if you can find where Mary Worship, and Praying to Mary is found. Please forward or show this information to your Catholic friends. There is nothing more Loving than the Truth, and nothing more Unloving than leaving someone in a False Belief system, leading them to Hell. Salvation is NOT through Mary, as Pope John Paul II led people to believe—it is ONLY through JESUS CHRIST. If anyone questions this, buy your own copy of this book on E-bay, or on Amazon (SEE LINK ABOVE), and look up these Quotes up for yourself. There are MANY more Incredible, Heretical, and Unbiblical Quotes in this Book, but this will at least give you a Summed Up idea of what Pope John Paul II believed and taught, being the keeper of Catholic theology. Sincerely, Scott Cepek

“What is the Catholic Sacrament of Holy Eucharist?”

The Pope with the upside down cross - False Teaching: Roman Catholics - SO4J.com

 By Got Questions

Question: “What is the Catholic Sacrament of Holy Eucharist?”

Answer: For Catholics, the Holy Eucharist / Catholic Mass is considered the most important and highest form of prayer. In fact, attending Mass is an obligation, under penalty of mortal sin, each Sunday and on certain other Holy Days of Obligation. The Mass is divided into two sections, the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The Liturgy of the Word consists of two readings (one from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament), the Responsorial Psalm, the Gospel reading, the homily (or sermon), and general intercessions (also called petitions).

The center of the Mass is its second part, the Liturgy of the Holy Eucharist. During this time, Catholics share in the body and blood of Jesus in the form of the bread and wine passed out to the congregation. According to the Bible, this is done in remembrance of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:23-25, cf. Luke 22:18-20 and Matthew 26:26-28). However, according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1366, “The Eucharist is thus a sacrifice because it re-presents (makes present) the sacrifice of the cross, because it is its memorial and because it applies its fruit.” The Catechism continues in paragraph 1367:

The sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Holy Eucharist are one single sacrifice: “The victim is one and the same: the same now offers through the ministry of priests, who then offered himself on the cross; only the manner of offering is different.” “And since in this divine sacrifice which is celebrated in the Mass, the same Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner on the altar of the cross is contained and is offered in an unbloody manner. . . this sacrifice is truly propitiatory.”

In the book of Malachi, the prophet predicts elimination of the old sacrificial system and the institution of a new sacrifice: “I have no pleasure in you, says the Lord of hosts, and I will not accept an offering from your hand. For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts” (Malachi 1:10-11). This means that God will one day be glorified among the Gentiles, who will make pure offerings to Him in all places. The Catholics see this as the Eucharist. However, the apostle Paul seems to have a different slant on it: “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship” (Romans 12:1). The Eucharist can only be offered in select places: Churches consecrated and blessed according to Catholic Canon Law. The idea of offering our bodies as living sacrifices fits better with the language of the prediction, which says that the sacrifices will be offered “in every place.”

The Roman Catholic Church believes that the bread and wine of the Holy Eucharist become the actual body and blood of Jesus. They attempt to support their system of thought with passages such as John 6:32-58; Matthew 26:26; Luke 22:17-23; and 1 Corinthians 11:24-25. In 1551 A.D., the Counsel of Trent officially stated: “by the consecration of the bread and wine there takes place a change of the whole substance of the bread into the substance of the body of Christ our Lord and of the whole substance of the wine into the substance of his blood. This change the holy Catholic Church has fittingly and properly called transubstantiation” (Session XIII, chapter IV; cf. canon II). By sharing in the Eucharistic meal, the Church teaches that Catholics are fulfilling John 6:53: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.”

What does that really mean? Jesus goes on to say that “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is of no avail. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life” (John 6:63-64). So, if “the flesh is of no avail,” why would we have to eat Jesus’ flesh in order to have eternal life? It does not make sense, until Jesus tells us that the words He speaks are “spirit.” Jesus is saying that this is not a literal teaching, but a spiritual one. The language ties in perfectly with the aforementioned statement of the apostle Paul: “present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship” (Romans 12:1).

In Jewish thought, bread was equated with the Torah, and “eating of it” was reading and understanding the covenant of God (cf. Deuteronomy 8:3). For example, the apocryphal book of Sirach states “‘He who eats of me will hunger still, he who drinks of me will thirst for more; he who obeys me will not be put to shame, he who serves me will never fail.’ All this is true of the book of Most High’s covenant, the law which Moses commanded us as an inheritance for the community of Jacob” (Sirach 24:20-22). Quoting from Sirach here is not endorsing it as Scripture; it only serves to illustrate how the Jewish people thought of Mosaic Law. It is important to understand the equating of bread with the Torah to appreciate Jesus’ real point.

In John 6, Jesus is actually telling the crowd that He is superior to the Torah (cf. John 6:49-51), and the entire Mosaic system of Law. In the passage from Sirach, it states that those who eat of the Law will “hunger still” and “thirst for more,” the language of which is mirrored by Jesus when He says “He who comes to Me will never be hungry, he who believes in Me will never be thirsty” (John 6:35). Jesus is not commanding people to literally eat His flesh and drink His blood, He is telling them the core of all Christian doctrine: belief in Jesus Himself (“The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent,” John 6:29, emphasis added). Therefore, the Catholic interpretation of John 6 is unbiblical.

Secondly, there is a very clear analogy in John 6 to the days of Moses and the eating of manna. In the days of Moses, manna was God’s provision for food for the Israelites as they wandered in the wilderness. In John 6, however, Jesus claimed to be the true manna, the bread of heaven. With this statement Jesus claimed to be God’s full provision for salvation. Manna was God’s provision of deliverance from starvation. Jesus is God’s provision of deliverance from damnation. Just as the manna had to be consumed to preserve the lives of the Israelites, so Jesus has to be consumed (fully received by faith) for salvation to be received.

It is very clear that Jesus referred to Himself as the Bread of Life and encouraged his followers to eat of His flesh in John 6. But we do not need to conclude that Jesus was teaching what the Catholics have referred to as transubstantiation. The Lord’s Supper / Christian communion / Holy Eucharist had not been instituted yet. Jesus did not institute the Holy Eucharist / Mass / Lord’s Supper until John chapter 13. Therefore, to read the Lord’s Supper into John 6 is unwarranted. As suggested above, it is best to understand this passage in light of coming to Jesus, in faith, for salvation. When we receive Him as Savior, placing our full trust in Him, we are “consuming His flesh” and “drinking His blood.” His body was broken (at His death) and His blood was shed to provide for our salvation. 1 Corinthians 11:26, “For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.”

Whether the Catholic definition of Holy Eucharist is a “re-sacrifice” of Christ, or a “re-offering” of Christ’s sacrifice – both concepts are unbiblical. Christ does not need to be re-sacrificed. Christ’s sacrifice does not need to be re-offered. Hebrews 7:27 declares, “Unlike the other high priests, He (Jesus) does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins ONCE for all when He offered Himself.” Similarly, 1 Peter 3:18 exclaims, “For Christ died for sins ONCE for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God…” Christ’s once for all death on the cross was sufficient to atone for all of our sins (1 John 2:2). Therefore, Christ’s sacrifice does not need to be re-offered. Instead, Christ’s sacrifice is to be received by faith (John 1:12; 3:16). Eating Christ’s flesh and drinking His blood are symbols of fully receiving His sacrifice on our behalf, by grace through faith.

The membership of this church is more than half of all that are identified as Christianity (over one billion people) but the majority of Catholics baptized into the denomination do not even regularly practice their religion. Additionally, many Catholics know little about their own beliefs or they ignore the doctrine. Many integrate it with native pagan religions.

This denomination teaches that you are saved by grace, faith and works. God’s grace is something you must earn by keeping the church sacraments, traditions and rituals. The priests of the church are successors of the apostles and have all of Christ’s authority on earth. The priests are grace dispensers and the church is infallible. If you accumulate enough merit you will go to heaven. Otherwise you will have to go through the fires of purgatory or to hell. The writings of the church fathers and the traditions of the church have equal weight with the holy scriptures. The members are in the process of being saved by their works of merit.

Many of the church’s traditions and practices are contrary to scripture proving that this church is far from being infallible. Satan with his wolves in sheep’s clothing has infiltrated this church and corrupted it. The Catholic Church has become like the corrupted Judaism that Jesus condemned. It is largely a church of Pharisees and of blind ritual — a church of idolatry, rote prayer, and traditions of men. To rid most of Christianity of apostasy in the Church we first would have to go to the root of apostasy and purge out most of the doctrines that have infiltrated the Catholic Church.

Hard Questions to Ask Good Catholics

By Mike Gendron – Proclaiming The Gospel Ministries

One of the most effective ways to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to ask questions. This method is highly effective because it is biblical! It also shows people that you care for them. Usually people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. The Lord Jesus had some hard questions for good Jews. He asked questions, not only to make His Gospel known, but also to expose the errors of religious leaders.

Jesus challenged Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews, about his knowledge of the Kingdom of God: “Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?” (John 3:10). He asked the stubborn-hearted Pharisees who were blinded by religious tradition: “If I speak the truth, why do you not believe me?” (John 8:46). Then He exposed how corrupt their religion had become with this hard question: “Why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?” (Matt 15:3). Possibly the most important question the Son of God ever asked was addressed to Peter: “Who do you say that I am?” (Matt 16:15). The response to this question carries eternal consequences because Jesus warned: “if you do not believe that I am [the one I claim to be], you will indeed die in your sins” (John 8:24). These questions must be answered correctly, not only by those lost in religion, but by everyone else. Following are some hard questions to ask good Catholics.

Where Do You Go to Find the Truth About Life’s Most Critical Issues?

There is only one source that will never mislead you, never deceive you or try to control you. It is Christ and His Word (John 14:6; John 17:17). Jesus said: “If you abide in My word … you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32). Free from what? Free from the bondage of religious deception. Knowledge of the truth is necessary to escape from the snare of the devil who holds people captive to do his will (2 Tim. 2:25-26). Satan uses deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ to blind people from the truth (2 Cor 11:13-15). Knowing this, Rome defiantly declares its Bishops to be successors of the “apostles of Christ.” According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), “whoever listens to them is listening to Christ” (CCC, para. 862). We must tell Catholics their bishops fail the test for apostles given in Acts 1:21-26. There have been only two successors of the apostles – Matthias was chosen by the apostles and Paul was chosen by Christ (Acts 9:1-19).

God warns us: “Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation” (Psalm 146:3). Why the warning? Because “savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them” (Acts 20:29-30). In light of these warnings, the most critical question is this: Will you trust Christ and His Word or man and his religious traditions.

catholics-are-they-saved

Did You Know There is Only One Way to be Saved?

God’s Gospel is by grace through faith in one person (Eph 2:8-9). The gift of eternal life is given freely to those who trust the eternal God. incarnate – Jesus Christ – His virgin birth, His perfect life, His atoning death and His glorious resurrection (1 Cor 15:1-4). The Lord Jesus is sufficient to save sinners completely and forever. Diametrically opposed to God’s Gospel is The Catholic gospel which offers salvation through its sacraments. The Catholic priest replaces the sovereign work of God by administering baptism which “not only purifies from all sins, but also makes the neophyte a new creature, an adopted son of God who has become a partaker of the divine nature, a member of Christ and co-heir with Him and a temple of the Holy Spirit” (CCC,1257,1265). Most baptisms are administered to new born babes who have no capacity to put their faith in anything.

catholics-are-they-saved

Did You Know Those Who Distort the Gospel are Condemned?

This includes Apostles, Priests, Popes, Pastors or angels (apparitions of Mary) from heaven. The apostle Paul warned: “there are some who … want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed (Gal 1:7-8). Catholics need to be warned that their clergy is under divine condemnation for adding works and sacraments to God’s Gospel (CCC, 1129).

catholics-are-they-saved

Did You Know That Jesus Put an End to the Ordained Priesthood?

God’s Word reveals that the veil of the temple that separated the Holy of Holies from sinful man was tom open by God (Matt 27:51). Man can now come directly to God through faith in the shed blood of the Savior (Rom. 3:2326). Priests are no longer needed to offer sacrifices for sin (Heb 10:18). The only legitimate priesthood which remains on earth is the royal priesthood of all believers. They offer sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving for being called out of darkness into the marvelous light of the Son (1 Pet 2:9).

catholics-are-they-saved

Do You Believe Catholic Priests Have the Power to Call the Lord Jesus Down from Heaven Every Day?

According to Roman Catholic priest John O’Brien in his book Faith of Millions, “The priest … reaches up into the heavens, brings Christ down from His throne, and places Him upon our altar to be offered up again as the Victim for the sins of man… Christ, the eternal and omnipotent God, bows his head in humble obedience to the priest’s command.” Over 200,000 times each day, priests throughout the world believe they re-present Jesus on their altars as an offering for sins of the living and the dead (CCC, 1371-1374). Again Catholics ignore God’s Word which declares that Jesus “having been offered once to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time for salvation not to bear sin” (Hebrews 9:28). The Bible also tells us how and when Jesus will appear. He will return the same way he left, immediately after the tribulation with power and great glory (Matt 24:27-30; Acts 1:11). By the authority of God’s Word we must conclude that the Eucharist is a false Christ.

catholics-are-they-saved

Why do Priests Continue to Offer Jesus as a Sacrificial Victim When He said “It Is Finished” John 19:30?

God’s Word says: Jesus appeared once and offered Himself once to bear sins. His offering is not to be done again (Heb 9:25-28). When Jesus “offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, [He] sat down at the right hand of God” (Heb 10:12). Disregarding the infallible Word of God, Catholicism teaches: “the sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are one single sacrifice. The victim is one and the same. In this divine sacrifice, the same Christ who offered himself once … is contained and offered in an unbloody manner” (1367).

catholics-are-they-saved

Did You Know Jesus has Already Obtained Redemption for Believers?

Catholicism denies this by teaching: “The work of our redemption is carried on” every time the Eucharist is celebrated (CCC, 1405) God’s Word declares: “He [Jesus] entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption” (Heb 9:12). “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace” (Eph 1:7).

catholics-are-they-saved

Why Do You Call Jesus the Savior When You Have to Save Yourself?

Catholicism teaches the sinner must “make satisfaction for” or “expiate” his sins. This satisfaction is also called “penance.” (1459; “In this way they attained their own salvation and cooperated in saving their brothers” (1477). God’s Word proclaims “There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

catholics-are-they-saved

Why Do You Believe a Place Called Purgatory Can Purify Your Sins?

God’s Word says “when He [Jesus] had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high (Hebrews 1:3). “He gave Himself for us to… purify for Himself a people for His own possession” (Titus 2:14). “The blood of Jesus… cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). These verses destroy the myth of Purgatory. Yet the Vatican continues to deceive Catholics by teaching they “must undergo purification [in Purgatory] to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven” (CCC, 1030).

Why Do You Pray to Mary?

Mary Worship| Catholics-Are They Saved? | SO4J.com

Nowhere in the Bible do we see believers praying to anyone except God. Jesus taught us how to pray in the Sermon on the Mount. He instructed us to pray to the Father and not to use meaningless repetition (Mat. 6:7-13). Yet Catholics are taught to pray the rosary which is made up of over 50 repetitious prayers to Mary.

Why Aren’t These Catholic Traditions Found in the 1st Century Church?

  • Priests offering sacrifices for sins
  • Indulgences remitting sin’s punishment
  • Church leaders forbidden to marry
  • Infallible men

Did You Know That Whenever You Believe a Doctrine, You Must Also Forsake That Which Opposes It?

Scripture reveals that Jesus Saves…

  • By faith in Him, not baptism + His grace, not our merit
  • By His finished work, not our works + by His righteousness, not ours
  • By His one offering for sin, not the Mass + by His blood, not Purgatory + by His obedience, not ours
  • By His Gospel, not our perversion of it

Which Jesus Will You Trust?

The Jesus of the Bible promises eternal life, the complete forgiveness of sins, a permanent right standing with God and the power to live a victorious life. The Catholic Jesus is a Jesus that was never preached by the Apostles (2 Cor 11:4). This counterfeit Christ provides only conditional life, partial forgiveness of sins, an ongoing need for priests and mediators, uncertainty, fear and doubt. Those who reject the true Jesus, who is clearly and conclusively revealed in His Word, will be judged accordingly. The Lord Jesus Christ said, “The word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day” (John 12:48).

Q & A for Catholics

Questions and Answers for Catholics | Catholics - Are They Saved? | SO4J.com

By Tony Capoccia

Bible Bulletin Board

Question 1 – Someone said that Catholics are condemned to Hell. I thought that Catholics believed that Christ was their Lord & Savior, or am I confused? I am not Catholic but much of my family is, are they saved?

I was a Catholic for 34 years, and come from an all-Catholic family. I was saved at the age of 34, and entered Seminary one year later. While in my four years of seminary I did a rather in-depth study of the Catholic Faith to determine why 34 years of Catholicism never made a difference in my life. At the end of the 34 years of Catholicism, I was involved in all kinds of sin and certainly not living a Christian life. I then came to Christ, by repenting, faith and submission to Him, a very simple prayer of the heart and lips. Within one week my life started a transformation, I suddenly stopped drinking and swearing. As the weeks went by the Lord kept weaning me from more sin.

When I as seminary I searched for the reasons why Catholicism didn’t work–why all the years as an altar-boy, all the rosaries, all the Novenas, Masses, Stations of the Cross, etc. never made a difference.

The answer was in their Gospel message. Every religion in the world can be defined by the Gospel message–what must a person do to get to heaven? The Bible was clear:

  • Ephesians 2:8-9 “It is by GRACE you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the GIFT OF GODNOT by WORKS, so that no one can boast.”

I came to Christ by faith and faith alone in Christ, with absolutely no works–it was all by what Jesus did. I simply repented of my sin, believed in who Jesus claimed to be, and then submitted my life to His control.

Now what I discovered about the Catholic Church was that they have a different gospel than the one of the Bible. I went to eight years of Catholic grade school and knew what it was, but the study at seminary explained the source for their belief.

The Catholic gospel says that “one gets to heaven by the Grace of God through the death of Jesus on the cross” (so far so good–it sounds right). But the way to receive this grace is NOT by faith and faith alone.

  • Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

According to the Catholics the way a person receives the grace to be saved is by “doing certain things” (works), like: (These 8 items below are FALSE – we are not Saved by these works)

1. Going to Mass = grace

2. Saying Catholic prayers (Our Fathers, Hail Mary’s, rosaries, etc.) = grace

3. Receiving communion = grace

4. Being baptized (infant) = grace

5. Going to confession = grace

6. Helping others = grace

7. Making a novena = grace

8. Making the Stations of the Cross = grace and on, and on it goes

Then according to the Catholic Church, “If you die in a state of Grace, then you will go to heaven— eventually! You have to stop in Purgatory for an indefinite period of time (millions of years?). Purgatory is a place just like Hell (torment and agony), but the difference is you will get out some day— once “you have paid for your sins.”(yet Christ said on the Cross, just before He died, “It is Finished!” He meant that the price for sin has been paid!)

Yet, there is a problem, in that a Catholic can lose all of their accumulated grace by committing a MORTAL sin! A Mortal sin is a premeditated sin, basically one of the Ten Commandments, like killing someone, committing adultery, stealing, using the Lord’s name in vain, missing Mass on Sunday, etc.Any of these sins done with a willful heart caused all the accumulated grace to disappear. Thus if you then died without any grace, then you went non-stop to Hell.

However, if you could then rush to a Catholic priest and get your sins forgiven, then you collected a little more grace again, and were back on the road to heaven–at least until the next Mortal Sin dumped all your grace again.

Basically the Catholic Gospel is a “works” gospel, that is, “it is what Jesus did on the Cross PLUS my works gets me to heaven.”

But the true Gospel of the Bible, is salvation by faith and faith alone in Jesus— no works allowed nor accepted— it is all based only on what Jesus did.

In seminary I learned that the basic Catholic doctrine was set at the Council of Trent (1545-1563), 19th ecumenical council of the Roman Catholic Church, which met in response to the Protestant Reformation to initiate general church reform and define its essential dogmas). At that Council, they came up with a bunch of “canons” (ecclesiastical laws) of which one said this, “If anyone believes that salvation is by faith and faith alone, then let them be anathema (cast into hell)”. The Catholic Church at their core doctrine deny salvation by faith and faith alone in Christ. Yet the Bible said, that, “it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” [Ephesians 2:8-9]

All that I have just told you about the Catholic Church is available in any of their Catholic Catechisms, which outline their teachings.

The Roman Catholic Church is a false religion, and anyone who dies believing and trusting in their false gospel will be eternally condemned to Hell.

There are some other very obvious false teachings, that clearly contradict the Bible, but since most Catholics are ignorant of the Bible, they easily believe the lie.

For example, the Bible says, “There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” [1 Tim 2:5] This is a pretty clear statement, that Jesus is the ONLY mediator between God and man, yet the Catholic Church claims that there are two mediators: Jesus and His mother Mary. I quote a Catholic Catechism, “It was through the Redemption that the Savior exercised his mediatorial reconciliation, and that his mother SHARES in the process.” (The Catholic Catechism, John Hardon S.J., p168, Imprimatur, James P. Mahoney, D. D., Vicar General, Archdiocese of New York, DoubleDay, 1975). It goes on to explain how Mary suffered pain watching Jesus die on the cross, so she can also mediate with God, because she too bore some of the pain of Calvary.

This is complete nonsense from the evil one.

Another example is the Catholic doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, which basically says that Mary was born without original sin— just like Jesus. Another lie, for the Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) Everyone except Jesus, “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin.” (Heb 4:14-15) Only Jesus was without sin. Mary had original sin and sinned in her life.

One last example, the Bible says, “Do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.” [Matthew 23:9] This does not refer to our earthly fathers, for they are always referred to as “father”, rather this forbids the calling of anyone on earth “father” in the spiritual sense. Yet the Catholic Church calls their priests “Father” and the Pope in Rome, the “Holy Father”–both in a spiritual sense and in direct violation of Scripture.

A long answer to say, yes Catholics who believe and trust in the Catholic false gospel are condemned to Hell.

Question 2 – Can somebody belong to the Roman Catholic Church and be Saved?

Yes, but they cannot be saved by the Roman Catholic gospel for it is false, however, they can be a “Catholic” and get saved by the true gospel. At this point they are no longer technically a “Catholic” because they have yielded to a different gospel, not the false Catholic one. To stay in the Catholic Church after being saved would be difficult because of the many teachings that are clearly false. Ideally, as the new “Christian” grows in the faith and understands more of the Bible they will see the lies and hypocrisy of the Roman Catholic Church and leave. If a person claims to be a true Christian, and yet stays in the Catholic Church, supporting her doctrines, then that “could be” evidence of a false salvation.

Question 3 – Jesus says, “Call no man Father,” am I mistaken or is this accurate? If it is please explain why Priests in the Catholic faith are called “Father.” Is this a contradiction?

You are absolutely right!

  • Matthew 23:9 Jesus says, “Do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.”

This does not refer to our earthly fathers, for they are always referred to as “father”, rather this forbids the calling of anyone on earth “father” in the spiritual sense.

Yet the Catholic Church calls their priests “Father” and the Pope in Rome, the “Holy Father”–both in a spiritual sense and in direct violation of Scripture. This direct violation of Scriptures is one of the warning signs that the Catholic Church is a false religion.

False Catholic Church Doctrines vs God’s Word

Doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church

All Catholic quotes taken from The 1994 Catechism of the Catholic Church

The 1994 Catechism of the Catholic Church is the official source of all Roman Catholic doctrine.

Published in 1994, this is the first new catechism in over 400 years. All quotes from the 1994 Catechism of the Catholic Church can be read on a Catholic website: www.christusrex.org by typing in the #number in the search. The Catholic Institution has its own catechism that contradicts and opposes what the Bible teaches in many key doctrines: The Pope is infallible, the mass, Mary worship and Purgatory to name but a few.
